Review
The First Noel is ostensibly a Christmas recording but it will be played repeatedly during that season and after. Inspiration is the surprise that will ensure the year round playing of this CD. Pannist Noel La Pierre and his ensemble provide both the traditional sound and jazzy improvisations of Ken “Booker” Hutchinson arrangements on the whole recording. Track 10 is inspiring and it will motivate the listener to place this CD on a playlist for audio pleasure in January, or June, or December again.
