Caribbean folklore keeps traditional customs alive in song and dance. The language of our colonizers is mixed with the language of our ancestors. Caribbean folk songs are sung in English, Spanish, French and Patois. They are usually work songs, sea shanties, market songs, wake songs, Bele or Pique songs, game songs, lullabies or Spanish dance songs.
