Anthony Kellman Wings of a Stranger

WINGS OF A STRANGER is the companion CD to the book of poetry by the same title written by Anthony Kellman and published in 2000. The CD is a combination of spoken word and song tracks that explore the nature of reconciliation at the personal, historical, social, and spiritual levels. These renditions feature Kellman’s acoustic Tuk (Tuk music is the indigenous folk music of Barbados) combined with Latin and rock influences, the album is fresh, socially conscious, and groundbreaking, a perfect addition to the rainbow of styles with make up Caribbean reality.

ANTHONY KELLMAN was born in Barbados and educated there, and in the US, where he teaches creative writing at Augusta State University. Based in Atlanta, he is the author of three books of poetry, Watercourse (1990), The Long Gap (1996), and Wings of A Stranger (2000); and a novel, The Coral Rooms (1994). In 1992 he edited the first full-length US anthology of English-speaking Caribbean poetry, “Crossing Water.” His many awards include a National Endowment for the Arts Poetry award, and his writings have appeared in literary periodicals all over the world.
